Respect

There is something that attracts me to old ski hills where the whole downhill thing got started. Howelsen Hill in Steamboat Springs has a quaint ski lodge that ushers you toward a day at the oldest continuously operating ski area in the United States. Howelsen opened in 1915. It's not as big as it's younger brother on the other side of Steamboat Springs, but the hill still hosts World Pro Ski Tour races and daily training by the esteemed Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. Over the years, Howelsen has put 100 skiers on the Olympic Team.
